Three days of conversations with banks and partners, at a moment when AI stopped being a promise and started settling into the boardroom agenda.
From July 20 to 23, the N5 team was in Panama meeting with banks, partners, and prospects interested in taking the conversation with their customers to the next level. There were 7 sessions and more than 30 people, with a clear goal: to bring all our knowledge so CCB can further improve its productivity and efficiency indicators. The visit came at a particular moment for Panama’s financial system: artificial intelligence stopped being a promise of innovation and started settling into the agenda of executive committees.
It’s no coincidence. According to data from the Inter-American Development Bank, 58% of Panamanian financial institutions plan to implement advanced AI solutions, and regional investment in AI grew 32% between 2021 and 2023. Banks like Caja de Ahorros are already talking openly about becoming “smart banks,” betting on AI, data governance, and ecosystem partnerships to gain a stronger presence in their customers’ daily lives.
Panama is also moving forward on the regulatory front: the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, led by SENACYT, seeks to position the country as a regional hub for ethical, safe, and reliable AI — a framework that is starting to touch the financial sector closely.
In that context, N5 came to Panama to talk with banks and commercial teams about a very concrete challenge: how to take AI in customer conversations beyond the proof-of-concept stage, with the governance, traceability, and quality a regulated sector demands. These are exactly the topics that, weeks earlier, took center stage at the Banking Tech Summit Panama: the need to audit what AI responds, avoid “shadow AI,” and build true agent orchestration instead of isolated pilots.
These three days of meetings were an opportunity to hear firsthand each institution’s challenges and show how Singular, N5’s platform, helps service, sales, and collections teams practice and evaluate their toughest conversations — the other, less visible side of the AI transformation Panama’s banking sector is going through.
